Paul Blackburne

Paul is the Owner, Founder and Managing Director of Blackburne.

Since starting the company in 2003 with a $900,000 loan Blackburne has grown to become one of the largest property companies in Australia, specialising in large scale residential and commercial property development, property management and mortgage broking.

Blackburne currently has $1.65B worth of projects completing this year or under development now with starting construction soon. These projects are mostly iconic, high-end resort style apartments in the prime suburbs of WA.

Paul’s achievements have been recognised with a number of leading awards including:

As Managing Director, Paul leads an experienced team of long term senior executives that manage the day-to-day operations of the Blackburne group of companies.

Paul is married with two young children and spends any spare time he has on travelling and adventure sports.

John Blackburne

John has had over 40 years continuous experience in property, and has established a reputation for honesty, integrity and hard work. Few people in the property industry have such a wide breadth of experience in property development, project marketing and general real estate.

John syndicated and oversaw many of Perth’s leading property developments for over 30 years and, as a result, continues to be in high demand as a consultant on a wide range of property issues. John is a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Australia and a recipient of the Urban Development Institute of Australia award for ‘Best Medium High Density Development in Western Australia’.

His name has been synonymous with 163 apartment buildings totalling 5,300 apartments throughout the Perth Metropolitan area. Many of John’s clients and strategic partnerships have been in place for over 40 years, which bears testimony to his unmatched reliability, principled approach and dedication.

Evan Campbell

Evan joined Blackburne as an Executive Director in April 2016.

In his extensive property career, Evan has been involved in delivering over 80 projects (approx. value of $4 billion) across Australia, in his 31 year property career, including senior executive positions at Mirvac.

Evan brings over 30 years of apartment, hotel, housing & commercial/retail development experience to Blackburne. In his capacity as an Executive Director & Advisory Board member, Evan undertakes a number of high-level special projects within Blackburne & supports the Managing Director on both strategic and day-to-day operational issues.

Evan is a former Vice President (2010-2013) and Divisional Council Member (2007-2013) of the Property Council of Australia (WA Division), Committee for Perth Board Member and Chairman of Heritage Perth Inc. (2008-2016).

Evan is an avid golfer and guaranteed to be seen at the golf course in his spare time.

Matthew Chau

Matthew is responsible for Development, Sales and Marketing of Blackburne projects and has developed a wealth of experience in the property and construction industry since 2001.

He maintains key industry relationships and builds the right teams of people to work collaboratively on high quality, complex multi-residential developments. His main areas of focus include site acquisition, design, planning, sales and project finance, He works closely with all internal team members across the development portfolio.

Matthew holds degrees in Environmental Design, Architecture (Honours) and Law from the University of Western Australia.

Rob Jones

Rob joins Blackburne as Financial Controller with 10 years of finance experience in the property and agriculture industry. He has held positions with both privately owned companies as well as large multi-national listed companies. He gained his passion for property development in his last role where he spent 4 years working across both greenfield subdivision and infill mixed use commercial and residential projects.

Rob holds a degree in Commerce from Curtin University accompanied by his CPA qualification, he has developed a strong skillset in financial compliance and reporting, business partnering and financial modelling, while maintaining a continuous improvement approach.

In his spare time, Rob enjoys playing golf, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.

Taylah Crane

In Taylah’s spare time she is completing a Graduate Certificate in Business. On the weekend you will find her at home entertaining friends and family, and when she can she’ll be on a plane traveling overseas.

Rhys has played a key role in the successful delivery of 12 multi-residential projects for Blackburne, and has recently overseen the design, sales and marketing for more than $600M worth of residential property.

In addition to his specific technical skills, Rhys possesses strong commercial proficiency across each aspect of property development, and has an intimate knowledge of the West Australian property market.

Anthony brings a diverse range of experience to his role at Blackburne gathered from more than 25 years in the property development, construction, and design sectors.

Anthony has a strong construction and development background combined with extensive experience in design and project management. This skillset enables the delivery of the high quality expected of every Blackburne project whilst maintaining our reputation for value for money and timely project completion.

Anthony has a Construction Management and Economics Degree from Curtin University, enjoys mountain bike riding and spending time in the southwest of WA.

Ben Pearse

Ben joins the development team with 10 years’ experience across property development and civil engineering projects, most recently having worked across one of the largest residential and commercial project in Perth for a Multinational developer.

With a double degree in Civil Engineering and Commerce from the University of Western Australia, he has developed a strong focus and understanding of the statutory approval processes and stakeholder management which is key in delivering successful project outcomes.

In his spare time Ben is taking on the challenge of designing and building his first home in between spending time down at the beach in Scarborough.

James Hull

James graduated from Murdoch University in 2021 earning a Bachelor of Business with Distinction having majors in Business Law and Finance. Following this James began his career at Lester Group, where he worked on the delivery side of several commercial projects, and also played a key role in the acquisitions of several industrial development sites.

James brings with him to Blackburne a detail-oriented approach, strong financial modelling skills, and above all else a desire to further his capabilities.

Outside of work James can typically be found either spending time with friends and family or producing music in his home studio.

Bianca Gregson

Bianca Gregson has been working in the Property Industry since 2013.  She started her professional career in London where she worked at Southwark Council in the property sector.  From here she came back to Australia and spent the next 8 years as a Property Manager.

Bianca then found her true passion working in Blackburne Developments assisting the team on groundbreaking projects around Perth WA.

When Bianca isn’t at work, she is spending time with family and friends enjoying good food, at the gym or participating in outdoor activities.

Previous experience was 12 years with one of the UK’s largest banks, moved into consulting with a global IT services provider. Paul has always had a passion for property & this has assisted him in helping others, whether considering a place to live or searching for an ideal investment.

Outside of the work environment, Paul enjoys travel & has visited many locations throughout Australia & across the world. Family is central to Paul & with five children life is never dull!

Bianca McKenna is the Sales and Developments Administration Manager at Blackburne and brings a wealth of experience to her role, with more than two decades of experience in administration and project management.

Bianca’s extensive background in these fields have equipped her with a deep understanding of the intricacies of business administration from meticulous record keeping, managing projects, personnel and ensuring compliance.

She has experience in the area of project management in building luxury homes, assisting clients with their home building project from inception to completion, including interior and exterior selections, providing detailed documentation for construction and preparing contracts and variation documents.

Bianca has a passion for real estate and property development. Coupled with a drive to deliver exceptional service to her peers and clients and a high level of organisational skills, she is a key player in her team.

Clare Honeywill

Clare began her commercial property career with Knight Frank at Garden Office Park in 2006, assisting the onsite Property Manager. In 2010 Clare took up the position of Assistant Property Manager with Colliers, working on the AMP portfolio looking after 66 and 140 St George’s Terrace. In 2013 Clare moved to MMJ Real Estate to manage her own portfolio of mixed commercial assets. From there Clare progressed to Head of Department, Commercial, at Time Conti Sheffield. Since 2017 Clare has been working direct for an owner/investor, Jeff Leach, setting up and managing a small property management department with premium assets.

Clare brings to Blackburne years of commercial property management and leasing skills gained over many years working in the property sector, many of these in retail. Clare will head up the Blackburne Commercial Department with a view to enhancing and expanding this, working alongside the Blackburne Property Management team.

Clare holds a Diploma in Property Services a master’s in human resource management and Certificate of Sales Representative.

In her spare time Clare enjoys reading and playing tennis.

Bree Willison

After completing a Business Administration course at the beginning of 2013, Tiahn earnt her placement as an office all-rounder in a boutique Real Estate agency. This was Tiahn’s first exposure to the Real Estate Industry where she adapted quickly and grew to enjoy the client service aspects within the industry.

Over the years Tiahn has built on her experience working within Hospitality, Personal Assisting, Sales & Listing Coordination, Leasing, Reception and Property Management Assistant roles. Having diverse experience within the industry has given Tiahn the ability to adapt quickly to many situations and find effective solution by thinking outside of the box. Indya started as an Inspections Officer and over the years has moved onto Assistant Property Manager and Leasing Executive via internal promotions. During this time, she obtained her Sales License and is now a full-time Property Manager.

Miles joins the team at Blackburne with 2+ years in the real estate industry. Relocating from Brisbane and originally from Melbourne, he has past experience in the hospitality industry. Beginning his career in real estate as an assistant Property Manager, he soon transitioned into a leasing consultant role. This exposure and insight into Property Management provided him with knowledge and experience into a Property Manager role.

Miles is results driven and prides himself on his ability to create meaningful relationships with all of his clients. His strong negotiation skills paired with his ability to actively listen allows him to understand his clients and achieve desired results for all parties.

He completed his Advanced Diploma in Building Design (Architectural), providing a strong interest in understanding the design process of the built environment.

Indya joins Blackburne with 7 years in the retail industry. In 2020 she decided she wanted a change and got her license in real estate and began her career with Blackburne. Indya began her roll in routine inspections and over the years has moved through, assistant property management and leasing executive. During this time, she has obtained her sales license and is now a full-time property.

Indya’s passion for real estate is shown through her love of customer service and the property industry.

When Indya is not at work she enjoys going to the gym, socialising with friends and travelling.

Tracy joined Blackburne Mortgage Broking in 2014 after starting her career in Finance in 2004.

Tracy is an outgoing, well organised Client Liaison Manager who works as part of the Blackburne Mortgage Broking team to ensure that customers loans settle on time. Her excellent customer focus, organisation and communication skills ensures that our customers know what is happening with each key stage of their loan as it progresses from submission through to settlement. Customers who have benefited from Tracy’s assistance with their loans, attest to her helpfulness and ability to resolve even the most complex of issues in a timely and efficient way.

Tracy obtained her Property Management Registration and joined Blackburne Property Management in 2017 as an Inspections Officer to broaden her knowledge within the company.  Her attention to detail when completing Routine Inspections is outstanding.

She also has exceptionally strong leadership skills, and has previously led a customer service team.

Since 2015, Deb has been taking care of Trust Accounts at Blackburne. In her spare time, Deb enjoys reading, walking, tennis, going to the theatre, and spending time with family and friends.
