Jamie Oliver’s global chain of Italian restaurants has made its way to Brisbane, with a new two storey premises due to be opened in the heritage-listed Rowes Arcade on Edward Street Pacific Restaurant Group, which holds a franchise for the brand in Australia and New Zealand, bas secured 700squaremetresofspace in a building owned by US-based Prameliea Real Estate Investors. The restaurant will front the increasingly popular Edward Street. which is home to upmarket brands such as Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Hermes, Zegna, Oroton, Gucd, Longcharnp, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. The busy foot traffic and high end clientele are key criteria for the new restaurant, given Oliver’s requirements that it only serve the best fresh produce with very tirn1ted storage. The first Jamie’s Italian opened in Australia on Pitt Street. Sydney in late 2011, and two other outlets followed in Perth and Canberra with a fourth also having been identified in Parrarnatta.
