This week, UDIA WA officially opened nominations for the 2024 UDIA WA Awards for Excellence program, which will once again highlight the very best projects from across Western Australia for homebuyers to choose from.

The UDIA WA awards program is widely regarded as the pinnacle for the urban development industry in terms of achievement in community creation, innovation and sustainability, with award winners and finalists recognised for delivering outstanding and industry-leading projects.

The awards program includes a range of categories, which reflect the diverse range of housing choices available to buyers in a broad range of locations across Perth, Peel and the regions.

Categories cover the breadth of urban development – from masterplanned and residential subdivisions in new areas to medium-density townhomes and high-density apartment living in existing areas, as well as features such as community facilities, social infrastructure and sustainability.

The pinnacle award category is the Russel Perry Award for Urban Development Excellence, with the winner chosen from all category winners on the night. Last year’s Russel Perry Award for Urban Development Excellence winner was the iconic ONE Subiaco apartment project by Blackburne, which went on to win in the high-density apartment category at the UDIA National Awards for Excellence in March this year.

The winners of all categories from our state awards can nominate for the UDIA National awards program, where WA has a fantastic track record across a range of categories.

At the 2024 UDIA National Awards for Excellence, on top of ONE Subiaco’s success, Witchcliffe Ecovillage by Sustainable Settlements and Perron Group swept the competition, winning in the Sustainability category and taking home the gong for Project of the Year.

Henley Brook by Stockland also won in the UDIA National Residential Subdivision category, which is testament to the project team’s dedication to preserving the rural character of the location.

In the Masterplanned Communities category, Exchange at Curtin University won the top honour, rounding out a very successful WA contingent on the national stage.

Nominations for the 2024 UDIA WA Awards for Excellence are open until the end of June when we will release our nominated projects booklet, which showcases all the incredible projects in the running this year before we announce the winners at our 2024 UDIA WA Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner in September.

I encourage potential buyers to check out previous award winners and finalists via www.udiawa.com.au for more information.
