Record-Breaking Perth Penthouse Goes to Market

Perth’s most expensive penthouse will go to market this month for more than $22 million.

Blackburne’s $350-million development, The Grove, is set on a 1.5ha site in western Perth, and more than 80 per cent of the project has already been sold off the plan.

But its two-storey premium penthouse with its $22.7-million price tag would break Perth’s record for off-the-plan penthouse sales, which is currently $19 million for the penthouse at Blackburne’s One Subiaco development, according to managing director Paul Blackburne.

“This is the highest paid in Western Australia and when the new one sells it will break that record,” Blackburne said.

“We love creating iconic new developments like The Grove and we can’t wait to see the finished development in spring, 2023.”

The customisable premium penthouse includes a 16-car garage, seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, a 170-bottle cellar, and a private swimming pool on Level 14.

Blackburne has appointed Multiplex as the builder of the resort-style luxury apartments that will enjoy commanding views of the river and Perth’s city skyline.

“Multiplex … [has] delivered some of the most unique and complex projects globally and are also the builder on our One Subiaco project which is currently under construction and on track for completion in September 2022,” Blackburne said.

The apartments are split across two residential towers of 12 storeys and 16 storeys.

Three penthouses have already been sold off the plan, but a further five, including the premium penthouse, were due to be released this month.

The $22.7-million penthouse would include 1900sq m of private living space across two levels, in addition to access to more than 3000sq m of shared amenities.

“There has been and still is a significant undersupply of larger, high-end apartments in the western suburbs,” Blackburne said.

“We have now developed more than $1-billion worth of apartments in the western suburbs, with The Grove being one of largest and fastest-selling residential projects in the history of Western Australia.

“In terms of lifestyle, The Grove is unmatched in its location … nowhere else in the city will residents have the option of shopping, catching up for a coffee, a walk along the river or a swim at the beach—all less than five minutes away.”
